Paying it forward.

At Breakaway, we fully understand that we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the community we serve. It was during the hours spent on the roads with our fellow riders that the seeds for our business were planted. It was from within the local peloton that Breakaway was born. Our loyal customers understand that we are a product and a reflection of Philadelphia cycling; and that is why they come to us.

As our cycling community thrives, so do we. Thus we make every effort to support local efforts and events. But the most impact we make is through the people and organizations that we invest in: they are the riders that are out on the roads, they are the public face of our niche sport. It is through them that we hope to promote contagious change in people's attitudes towards bike racing, sharing the road, and—let's face it—form-fitting Lycra.

QCW Cycling is a 501c3 Nonprofit organization focused on improving cycling for adults and youth in the Philadelphia area. We are also a USA Cycling affiliated club focused on helping new riders learn to race and emphasizing fun.

Our men’s and women’s squads are constantly on the lookout for new riders interested in improving their fitness and their results. As a result, we have strong riders in all categories and age groups. We foster growth through frequent workouts, rides, and on-bike seminars for members who are encouraged by our more experienced riders.

QCW Cycling also has the strongest state-level crew of Cat 1/2 riders. QCW racers made up half of the top ten in the PA BAR (Best All-around Rider) elite competition including the podium. We start next year with an amazing squad of riders, nearly all of whom started their racing careers with us. We are looking to step up to bigger and better results on the regional race calendar, and would love your support.

QCW is proud of its Junior Mentoring Initiative which partners Philadelphia teens with mentors from the club. The JMI aims to impress character-building traits like responsibility and commitment in these young riders through the sport of cycling. Our juniors made tremendous strides this year, with a number of top tens as well as a third place finish in the Category 5 PA State Road Race.

2010 was our best season ever with over 15 race wins and thousands of points racked up by our men, women, and juniors. We won the Best All-Around Team competition in Pennsylvania. We’re looking to have an even better 2011. Join in on the fun!

Temple Cycling was established in the spring of 2007. While we have competed at nationals in every discipline, including a 5th place in women's cyclocross nationals and a couple top-tens at track nationals, the team is primarily composed of road riders.

In 2010, Temple Cycling had wins in men's A, women's C, and women's intro categories. Their goals for 2011 include sending riders to track and road nationals again, and get their large contingent of new riders upgraded to the D and C categories by the end of the year.

With a large contingency of 100+ members to throw into the fray, Penn Cycling is a presence to contend with in numerous disciplines like road, cyclocross, and mountain bike racing.

In 2010 the team finished 2nd in the ECCC D1 and Ivy League, an accomplishment highlighted by a 4th place finish in the collegiate nationals criterium.

This year, Penn Cycling has plans to serve the cycling community through QCW Cycling's Junior Mentorship Initiative. They will be coaching and training area youths to prepare them for The Tour de Breakaway, an indoor stage race held at the Breakaway Training Center.
